Cameron says that âyou want ton of the releases has film in 3D, it larva in 3D â
"I don't mean to throw that movie under the bus because my buddy Sam [Worthington, star of Avatar] is in it, but I think everybody realised that this was a point at which people had gone too far."
Cameron added: "You see another stumble with the most recent Harry Potter movie from the same studio making the same mistake - except really getting spanked for it now because they didn't get the film done.
"They announced it in 3D - threw a bunch of money trying to convert it to 3D in post-production and it simply didn't work. They just didn't get it done."
"My personal philosophy is that post conversion should be used for one thing and one thing only - which is to take library titles that are favourites that are proven, and convert them into 3D - whether it's Jaws or ET or Indiana Jones, Close Encounters... or Titanic."Unless you have a time machine to go back and shoot it in 3D, you have no other choice. The best alternative is if you want to release a movie in 3D - make it in 3D."He also talked about how we can expect glasses free 3D in a decade:Cameron predicted that the days of 3D conversion in movies were numbered.
"The thing that's going to be the coffin nail for conversion is when the broadcasters start broadcasting thousands, if not tens of thousands of hours a year in 3D.
"If you've got 5,000 cameras doing live sports feeding in over many different network delivery systems, it's going to be pretty hard for Hollywood producers to claim that 3D is just too complicated to make a movie in 3D, when it's being done every day by people a lot less talented and a lot less well-funded."
The director also said that glasses-free 3D would be a reality within a decade.
"Once we get to auto-stereoscopic, that's watching 3-D without glasses, it is going to be the way we watch all of our media. That's probably eight to 10 years away."
I think once we get to that point I'll really dig 3D. Right now all it does is give me a headache.Source: BBC

Framework of notes: The Amber heard Applicant into âit â; Abigail Breslin in Eve new yearly `
Despite earning a nice little fanbase for All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and forgetting to wear any clothes in The Informers, Amber Heard‘s closest thing to a break-out moment probably remains her bit part as the first zombie encountered by Jesse Eisenberg in Zombieland.
Now she’ll appear as “a stalker student” in The Applicant, a thriller to be directed by Eric Bross. This is from Arclight Films, the same company (essentially) behind the sci-fi Shakespeare film Henry 5. The script, by Jeff Rothberg and Francis X McCarthy, is about “an underage prep school senior obsessed with admission to Yale who will stop at nothing to get her way, including seducing and ruining the life of an admissions director with connections to a top Yale professor.” Hopefully, by the time this is shot, we’ll have had a chance to see Amber Heard in The Rum Diary, opposite Johnny Depp; she’s also in Drive Angry and And Soon the Darkness. [Screen Daily]
After the break, another actor gets paid on New Year’s Day.
Now this is the point where I’ll have to ask you to kindly contain your excitement: Abigail Breslin is in talks for New Year’s Eve, the Garry Marshall spinoff of Valentine’s Day. She’d be the second signing after Lea Michele, who signed on not long ago, but if the film follows in the footsteps of Valentine’s Day this will be a good paycheck gig for quite a few actors. The relase date is set for December 9, 2011. (Because, one expects, by New Year’s Day the box office will be owned by big late-December openings.) [Variety]

VOTD: The version off video rank `wants fuel element Blood there
Over the weekend I caught a friend howling with laughter while watching something that looked like a video game — turned out it was the fake 16-bit video game based on There Will Be Blood. ‘Super There Will Be Blood’ has elements reminiscent of Montezuma’s Revenge, Super Mario Brothers, the platform movie tie ins like the Super Star Wars games, and probably a few other influences that those well-versed in classic games will recognize. And it is pretty funny. See for yourself after the break.
