Lionsgate feels âthe Safe âmore under âthe protection âfrom âDredd â

Lionsgate certainly is trying to keep their hands in as many projects as possible. For example, look at the new titles they scooped up from IM Global today. They managed to grab "Safe", "Dredd" and "Protection". First off yes, when we're talking about "Dredd" we do mean the Judge Dredd film that's going to start filming this month. Pete Travis is directing the comic book adapted film with Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby headlining the cast."Safe" is a Boaz Yakin film that stars Jason Statham, but nobody really knows what it's all about. Apparently Lionsgate does or else they wouldn't have bothered taking the distribution for this film in the first place, or at least we'd hope that's what's going on. The last one that they acquired was "Protection", which has Dwayne Johnson in the starring role for the film that begins production in March.Lionsgate recently released "Saw 3D"and will be spitti! ng out the new Paul Haggis film "The Next Three Days" in theaters on November 19th.Source: Variety
