All right, so Anne Hathaway and James Franco might have not been that entirely entertaining the way Ricky Gervais was at this year's Golden Globe Awards, but at least the 83rd Annual Academy Awards were fun.Okay, maybe they weren't because they were so ridiculously predictable that if anybody had bet on the winners in Vegas they'd be rich. Michael Fassbender speaks PROMETHEUS `

Is it the “Alien” prequel or is it not the “Alien” prequel?

Director Ridley Scott has kept the “Prometheus” script under tremendous secrecy to the point that the actors must travel to his offices to read the script.

In Entertainment Weekly’s interview with Michael Fassbender, EW hoped to shed more light on the film.

“It’s a different story, but it’s also got the traditional roots. ‘Alien’ fans will recognize things in it. It’s not ignoring ‘Alien,’ there’s still a link to that world. But it’s a different story. It’s definitely connected, though,” he described the “Prometheus” film.

As for his role, it was previously reported he would play an android.

“I don’t know what I can say!” he laughed. “I don’t want to get into trouble…”

The film will begin shooting in the next few weeks. It will hit theaters on June 8 next year.

There you have itâ€"it’s not the “Alien” prequel. Sort of.

Ground off the Parodieseite: `Boston rewarded with the Oscars Movie and `Riverdale

Take a break from reality for a minute with a couple of trailers for films you’ll never see. Or, as it really goes, trailers for a couple of films you’ll never see that are quite a bit like a great many other films you have seen. The Boston-set movies of the past decade get sent up in The Oscar-Winning Boston Movie, while Riverdale offers a new, ugly perspective on Archie comics.

First up, The Oscar-Winning Boston Movie, which mashes together ideas from The Departed, The Town, The Fighter, Good Will Hunting and many more. (And that Whitey Bulger reference is one for the real hometown kids.)[via TheHighDefinite]

The film’s YouTube page says,

There’s only one city with this much Oscar-worthy drama, and it ain’t New York. From the people who brought you “The College Town” comes Boston’s ultimate story of crime, boxing, child-losing, bank robbing and equation solving.

(Or with all the subtlety of Betty and Veronica making out.) And it’s still pretty funny.

Riverdale was produced with the help of almost 100 Craigslist volunteers from the Vancouver film industry. We produced this and the 10 other comedic videos on a budget of $3, 500 over a weekend. The Craigslist and random nature of this production brought the director and his girlfriend together. It also united the executive producer’s wife with her long lost friend/boyfriend when she recognized him playing the character of Moose.
