Battlefield Fight SeriesBattlefield Fight League Presents Vancouver’s First ever Mixed Martial Arts event inside the Cage on May 15th At the Rocky Mountaineer Station

Vancouver’s Largest mixed martial arts promotion, Battlefield Fight League, will host the city’s first ever MMA event held inside a cage at the Rocky Mountaineer Station on Saturday, May 15th, and the organizations May fight card features four of Vancouver’s top fighters.

Battlefield’s mission is to produce the most exciting, highest-quality fight shows on the West Coast and to develop superstar up and coming talent to compete on the world stage.

“Our focus is MMA. We don’t promote boxing, we don’t promote music, we focus on MMA and that is all that we care about. Each of our top 4 fights could easily headline any other local promotion.” Stated Battlefield President Jay Golshani. “This card is stacked with high level fighters from the U.S. and all across Canada coming down to Vancouver to test their skills against our top local guys. You are going to witness the most exciting fight night in Vancouver History on May 15th.”

The main event of the night will feature local fire fighter, Carlson Gracie Bjj standout, Justin Lansing making his long anticipated mma debut. Lansing’s opponent will be Spokan Washington’s top prospect Levi Alford who has finished his last 4 opponents via submission. It will be interesting to see if Alford will use his usual strategy of attempting numerous submissions when facing Lansing who many believe is a higher level grappler.

In the co-mainevent North Vancouver’s Tak Sasaki will try to build on his quick first minute KO win last month and solidify himself as one of west coast top lightweights. Sasaki will be facing Team Havoc’s young phenom Chris Day. Day, who has a very impressive 5-0 record, has been ripping through the 145 pound division. This fight will be at a catch weight of 152 pounds.

Yusuf Njie who is well known for his explosiveness and standup skills will face Devron Roller of Spokan Washington who is the Xcite fight promotions number one ranked welterweight. These guys both like to stand up and bang and it is very unlikely that this fight will go to a decision.

Sean Zubor who is undefeated in his MMA career will face his toughest test to date against 6-2 Matt Dwyer of Kelowna. Dwyer whose main strength is his striking might go for one of his highlight real strikes, while Zubors best chance to win this fight will most likely be on the mat.

Battlefield will have a member of BC Children’s Hospital Present at their May 15th event to accept a cheque from the sport of MMA to help build a new hospital for the sick kids. All the fighters and schools that are involved with Battlefield have helped throughout the year with fundraisers like this to give back to their community. MMA superstar Denis Kang along with Pro Fighters Dave Scholten and Marcus Vinicios will be releasing more details on this fundraiser to the public and the media on the week leading up to the fight.

The MMA community and Battlefield plan to donate $100,000 to B.C. Children’s Hospital by the end of 2011. “MMA at the Station” will feature 12 Mixed Martial Arts bouts in a Cage.
