Liam Neeson Nixed âoff flocks II Wood mouth â

Liam Neeson, who has been in everything from 'Star Wars' to 'Batman,' had shot a cameo for 'The Hangover Part II' in which he played a tattoo artist in Bangkok, Thailand. The cameo however, has been nixed from the final cut of the film because director Todd Phillips decided to cut a scene that followed it, which doesn't allow for Neeson's contribution to fit in with the flow of the film. Phillips re-shot the scene a few weeks back and was hoping that Neeson would in some way be involved, but with the veteran actor working on 'Wrath of the Titans,' he's all booked up. The tattoo artist that Neeson was originally to cameo as has been recast with Nick Cassavetes snatching up the role. Speaking with Variety, Phillips said on the matter: "We were in a complete time crunch so I called up Nick and asked if he would do the part. He came in and crushed it and that is the scene that you will ultimately see in the film. [I'm excited for everyone] to see the film. It turned out great." Here's the synopsis for the anticipated sequel:  "Phil, Stu, and Alan travel to Bangkok for Stu's wedding only to find themselves in another post-blackout misadventure." Ranging from the Green Goblin to some guy in the woods mistreating his wife, veteran actor Willem Dafoe is in talks to join 'Odd Thomas,' an upcoming film which is based on the novel from author, Dean R. Koontz. The synopsis of the film is as follows:  "In a California desert town, a short-order cook with clairvoyant abilities encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark, threatening forces." Anton Yelchin stars in the film. He has had pivotal roles in 2009's 'Star Trek' and 'Terminator Salvation.' In addition to starring in 'Odd Thomas,' upcoming films that the actor is a part of include 'The Smurfs' and the remake of 'Fright Night.'Joining Yelchin is Addison Timlin, who plays Stormy, Thomas' girlfriend. She and the local police chief -- who Dafoe is in negotiations to play -- are the only two people who know about the supernatural secret that Thomas has. Stephen Sommers wrote the screenplay for the still director-less film. 'Odd Thomas' has a tentative 2012 release date.

Robert Redford is going back to baseball again.

The “Natural” star has signed on to an untitled film by Legendary Pictures involving the historical drama about the Brooklyn Dodgers executive Branch Rickey and baseball player Jackie Robinson.

Rickey was known for breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier by signing the league’s first African-American player Jackie Robinson.

Brian Helgeland will write and direct the film. Helgeland wrote the screenplays 2010’s “Robin Hood,” “Man on Fire,” “Mystic River,” and “A Knight’s Tale.” His last directorial film was with 2003’s “The Order.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, the untitled film will “look less at the specifics of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball’s color barrier and more at the complex relationship between Rickey, who scholars believed integrated baseball for reasons of both idealism and economics, and Robinson, the second baseman who faced tremendous discrimination when he signed with the Dodgers system in 1945.”

“No one really knows the Rickey part, the political maneuvers and the partnership they had to share,” said Redford to the Los Angeles Times. “It’s the story underneath the story you thought you knew.”

The part of Jackie Robinson has not been cast at this time.

Warner Brothers Pictures has a first look deal with Legendary Pictures for the project. The two companies have a long history of co-financing film projects including “The Dark Knight,” “The Hangover,” and “300.”
