Linklater and black emphasize âBernie â

"School of Rock" apparently was not the last time Jack Black and Richard Linklater were going to team up on a film. The two of them are collaborating once more in the upcoming dark comedy "Bernie" from Castle Rock Entertainment and Mandalay Vision. What makes it even more interesting is the addition of Shirley MacLaine to the cast, co-starring alongside Black in the comedy. Principal photography is scheduled to begin this October."Bernie" is set in the small town of Carthage, Texas and follows a Renaissance man-community leader-mortician Bernie (Black) who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a wealthy but very particular widow (MacLaine). When he kills her, he goes to great lengths to maintain the illusion that she is still alive.
