âThe tree off the life âreceives finally has house
After awhile of searching, it appears that Fox Searchlight Pictures has acquired the U.S. rights to Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life". This picture has been jumping back and forth between distributors and has garnered a lot of attention not only because of that but of the film in general. It's dripping with awards-season potential since it boasts a cast with actors like Brad Pitt and Sean Penn along with a alluring story line. Searchlight describes the film as the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950s chronicling the journey of an eldest son (played as an adult by Penn) from childhood to his disillusioned adult years, trying to reconcile the complicated relationship with is father (Pitt). Malick's picture could have been released sometime this fall/winter, but because of the cramped distribution slate it won't see the light of a projector until sometime in 2011! .The films under the Fox Searchlight wing that will come out in theaters during the remainder of this year include "Black Swan", "Never Let Me Go" and "127 Hours".Source: Deadline
