Ground off the mystery side for the battle `: Los Angeles

On the premiere weekend of alien-invasion movie “Skyline,” Columbia Pictures debuted the teaser trailer for a different alien-invasion movie “Battle: Los Angeles.

The synopsis reads, “For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world â€" Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, and China. But in 2011, what were once sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike they’ve ever encountered before.”

The film stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Roman Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo and Michael Pena. The film will be released nationwide on March 11 next year.

Check out the trailer below. For high definition QuickTime, you will find it here.

Gig Patta’s Take: Director Jonathan Liebesman once described this movie as an urban combat warfare of alien invasion movies (think of Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down"). So far the trailer didn’t disappoint me and it teased us without a good look of the aliens. But, why do aliens like invading Los Angeles?!? Let us know what you think of the trailer.
