The classic Grimm’s fairy tale “Snow White” is coming back on the big screen and this version will be in 3D.

Relativity Media signed Tarsem Singh (The Cell) to begin production of the untitled Snow White project in March next year.

According to TheWrap, Relativity is interested in casting Natalie Portman as Snow White, but Singh prefers to cast an unknown star.

This film will also compete against other in-development projects of Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” and Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven.”

Gig Patta’s Take: The three Snow White films will be with entirely different variations of the same story. The only problem is the audience may only tolerate the first film, so it may be a race to the finish. And there were several Snow White films in the past, so I don’t know if we truly need more.
