âTangledâ took the number one spot with $21.5 million and with âHarry Potterâ slipping into second place with $16.7 million. However, both movies were off their marks at 52 percent and 66 percent drop respectively.
âTangledâ has totaled $96.5 million, which will soon surpass last yearâs âThe Princess and the Frogâ at $104.4 million total. However, film ticket sales were 56 percent from 3D theaters for âTangled.â
Rounding out the top five, âBurlesqueâ and âUnstoppableâ both took $6.1 million. And âLove & Other Drugsâ received the fifth spot for $5.7 million.
As for the final Thanksgiving week movie âFaster,â it ended up eighth place at $3.8 million and disappearing off the charts pretty fast.
The only new release was âThe Warriorâs Way,â which broke into the top ten at ninth place with $3.1 million, which is horrible for a film in 1,622 locations. It made less than âJonah Hex,â âDragonball Evolution,â Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Liâ and âPunisher: War Zoneâ in their premiere weekends.
For limited releases, âBlack Swanâ received $1.4 million at 18 locations and âI Love You, Phillip Morrisâ debuted in 6 theaters for $113,316.
Next week, be prepared for a good lineup of movies with âTheâ in the title including âThe Tourist,â âThe Tempest,â and âThe Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,â âThe Company Men,â and âThe Fighter.â
