It appears that Burton is going to direct "Mai, the Psychic Girl," known simply as Mai, based on the Japanese comic.The comic follows Mai Kuju, a 14-year-old Japanese girl with powerful psychic abilities. She is being pursued by the Wisdom Alliance, an organization which secretly strives to control the world. Sony has been having serious money problems since October and didn’t want to make the film so they ! gave it all back to Burton.
