As their investigation intensifies strange occurrences in and around the house escalate rapidly, before culminating in unspeakable atrocities."‘Atrocious’ first premiered at the 43rd Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, and the Nabu Films and Silencio Rodamos Producciones production is Mexican filmmaker Fernando Barreda Luna’s directorial debut. The film generated enough interest that Celluloid Nightmares immediately acquired the film's worldwide rights following its premiere.Most avid horror fans will! agree that foreign horror films are usually much better than the domestic variety, however it’s difficult to get excited for this found-footage film that so closely resembles Paranormal Activity. ‘Atrcious’ makes its American debut at this year’s Slamdance Festival which takes place on January 22 in Park City, Utah, so we’ll find out sooner than later whether which definition of the word atrocious this movie lives up to.
