I C emergency want miracle Edouard Norton ace drunkenness! I want the unknown involved one!

One thing I enjoy is continuity in my super hero movies. As crazy as Terrence Howard is, I understand him wanting more money for Iron Man 2. Marvel said GTFO and hired Don Cheadle instead. Don is a great actor but he looked less like War Machine and more like someone stuffed him inside of a metal burrito.I enjoyed Eric Bana's portrayal of Bruce Banner but when the studio rebooted it, I was cool with them changing actors. After all, it's a reboot. And Edward Norton was fantastic in the role of Bruce Banner and I couldn't wait to see him again in The Avengers.Looks like that isn't happening.Hitfix got word that Marvel is playing hardball with Norton and is going after an unknown for the role of Bruce Banner. More from Hitfix:According to Marvel sources, the company has decided that they are going to cast "an unknown" to play Bruce Banner and The Hulk in the film.

"Oh, now, wait a minute,"Â!  you say. "How do you know Edward Norton didn't just pass on the role? After all, he's a serious actor and he's got other jobs, and maybe he doesn't want to play The Hulk again."

I sat down with Norton at SXSW this year, and one of the things we discussed was this exact scenario. At the time, he seemed to me to be interested in being part of "The Avengers" if the script and the director came together in an interesting way. This was before Whedon was hired, so it was all just hypothetical. Thing is, according to these same sources, Whedon's been meeting the cast, laying out his plans for the film, and so far everyone seems incredibly excited by what they're hearing. Hell, James Gunn and Nathon Fillion were Tweeting recently about how they hung out with Joss and what they heard convinced them that "The Avengers" is going to be insane.

One of the people who Whedon met with was Norton, and I'd love to know what they talked about. What I do know is that both Whedon and Norton reported their enthusiasm back to Marvel, and according to some calls I made today, it even sounds like Norton was making serious plans with his agency to keep his dates clear. And then...

... nothing. Marvel made a decision to hire an unknown, and they informed Norton that they won't be using him in the film. And that is evidently that.

Click HERE to read the rest. There are two ways of looking at this:1. Marvel is being a bunch of buttholes and is already slowly destroying the universe they've so desperately been trying to create on film. By lowballing Norton, they're screwing with actor continuity once again. And it's going to just piss off the fans. But what do they care? They know you're gonna see The Avengers regardless.or2. Who cares? Nobody wants to see Bruce Banner. People want to see The Hulk. And the last time I checked, Edward has a way to go before he's got a body muscular enough to be painted green. The Hulk is all CGI and I've been saying this for over a year now, The Hulk is going to be a villain in The Avengers anyway. Banner probably won't even be shown that much.So what do you guys think? Good or bad that Norton is out even though it sounds like he WANTS to play Bruce again? Or does none of it matter?I have a feeling there's more to this story...maybe Edward was being difficult? Maybe his i! deas for The Avengers and The Hulk were different than the direction Marvel wanted to go in. Will we ever find out? We'll have to wait and see.Chime in below.
