Results off the fight off the battleground 5

Battlefield Fight League 5 presented 15 exciting mma fights to a full house on January 15th, featuring Jacen Brooks defeating Ash Mashregi to retain his title, and the awarding of the Featherweight title to Gary Mangat in his Main card event fight against Cam Delurme.

Andrew Valiquette def. Clay Ayres by rear naked choke in round 1.
Tony Hyunh def. Hovig Stephanian by TKO after only 11 seconds in round 1.
Jesse Bird def. Andre Silva by unanimous decision after three three minute rounds.
Kirk Tse def. Jordan Manning by guillotine in round 1.
Ryan Allen def. Ben Anderson by TKO in round 1 due to unreturned blows in ground and pound.
Jer Kornelson def. Jesse Wierbowski 8 seconds into round 2 by ref stoppage. Jer must have had a talking to in the corner during corner time. He was saved by the bell in round one and finished it in an impressive upset.
Leo Xavier def .Chris Everett by arm bar in round 2.

UFC referee Big John McCarthy offered a gruelling and highly technical mma fight judging certification program. The pass score for the final exam was 90%. Big John was nice enough to stop by the event at Intermission for a meet and greet.

Eli Wyse def. Hanz Pangillinan in a stunning fashion 6 seconds into round 1 with a single left hook.
Ryan Christopher def. Jesse Shim by armbar in a round 1 tapout.
Marco Caffiero def. Jason Keller by round 3 ref stoppage. The fight wound could have continued but Keller sustained an ear tissue injury that would eventually burst.
Adam Santos def. Rick Peers by ref stoppage and a drubbing by Santos.
Stuart Delurme def. Bryce Gougeon by rear naked choke and a locked in body triangle. Gougeon faired better in round 2 but could not hold an advantage on the ground.
Jeremy Kennedy def. Oren Hanscomb by unanimous judges decision. Lots of grappling and ground. Hanscomb made Kennedy work for every bit of his win.
Jacen Brooks def. Ash Mashregi in the co-main event. A bloody and furious first round came to and end at 2:59 by tapout with leg triangle and ground and pound. Brooks keeps his welterweight belt and extends his winning streak to 5-0.
Gary Mangat def. Cam Delurme by judges decision after 5 rounds for this Featherweight title fight. Mangat had fast snappy kicks to supplement his ground fighting and was exciting to watch.
