The critically acclaimed movie, which some are calling the best film of the year (I'm not one of them.) knocked its competitors into MySpace and Friendster land. Legend of the Guardians stayed at #2 with $10.8 million. Good word of mouth on the playground (I get info from everywhere, people.) has kept this one flying high for Warner Brothers.Wall Street dropped to #3 with an estimated $10.1 million. Good ROI? Would Gordon Gekko approve? We'll have to wait and see if this becomes a good long term buy for Fox at the box office.Newcomers Case 39 starring Renee Boringweger, which was filmed I think 24 years ago and is finally getting released, bombed with $5.3 million. Nobody wants to see Renee Chinadollfacewege! r in movies, so stop putting her in them.Let Me In, the completely unecessary remake of Let the Right One In, also tanked with $5.3 million. And you know what, nothing against director Matt Reeves, but I'm glad it tanked. Enough with the damn American remakes of movies that were just released from another country. I hope they all bomb. Make movies we haven't already seen just two years prior.Next week The Social Network could stay on top with the debut of Life As We Know It starring Josh Duhamel and goofball Katherine Heigl.
