The end of the year 2010 is upon us, which means the Library of Congress is announcing what twenty five motion pictures they're going to lock into their National Film Registry. Among those on the list include "All the President's Men," "The Exorcist," "Airplane!," "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn," "Cry of Jazz," "I Am Joaquin" and even George Lucas' student film "Electronic Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB" and his widely popular sequel "The Empire Strikes Back." Also included in the list is the war documentary "Let There Be Light." The official number of films now in the National Film Registry is up to 550, which isn't much of a surprise since this has been continuing on from the late eighties."As the nation's repository of American creativity, the Library of Congress--with the support of the U.S. Congress--must ensure the preservation of America's f! ilm patrimony," said Librarian of Congress James H. Billington. "The National Film Registry is a reminder to the nation that the preservation of our cinematic creativity must be a priority because about half of the films produced before 1950 and as much as 90 percent of those made before 1920 have been lost to future generations."Scroll down to see the entire list of twenty-five films that have made the National Film Registry for 2010:
