Tim olive, in order ton more steer âthe 1884 â

A steam punk-like animation “1884” is moving forward.

The animation is directed by Tim Ollive, and the project will be co-produced and godfathered by Terry Gilliam.

A synopsis is “A story of outstanding heroism in the face of deception, subterfuge and treachery. Conjuring up the belief that it was made forty years before film was even invented, 1884: Yesterdays Future tells of a future that might have been but never was.”

The film will use a mix of animation, puppetry and two dimensional and three dimensional computer generated imagery set against backgrounds created using artwork, model sets and period photographs from the Hulton Picture Library division of Getty Images.

The voice actors are unannounced, but claimed it will use former members of the Monty Python.

No release date has been set.
