3D Possible Cleopatra `is with James Cameron, in order ton more steer

According to Deadline, director James Cameron and Sony Pictures Entertainment are deciding if Cameron should direct Angelina Jolie in “Cleopatra.” This Cleopatra version is based on author Stacy Schiff’s book called “Cleopatra: A Life.”

In addition, Deadline also reported that the project would be fast-tracked after screenwriter Bran Helgeland wrote as being described as a “brilliant script deserving of epic treatment” all about “what the Romans took from Egypt.”

The film would be in 3D and rated PG-13.

The Schiff’s biography of Cleopatra has not been released for sale to the public until next month. The Pulitzer Prize winner looked into the life of Cleopatra beyond the glitz and glamour of being the last queen of Egypt. Schiff explored the life and myths of her marriages, assassinations, sexual exploits, seductions and politics. The biography research revealed a very different Cleopatra that the public knows about today.

The movie would be compared to Elizabeth Taylor’s “Cleopatra” in 1963, which nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox and grossed very little at the box office. However, with James Cameron’s track record with Avatar and Titanic, he could possibly turn any epic budgeted film into box office gold.

“I will play it differently to Elizabeth Taylor, but I could never be as lovely as she was. We are trying to uncover the truth about her as a leader and not just a sex symbol which she really wasn’t â€" she didn’t have many lovers, maybe only two, and they’re men she had children with,” said Jolie in a interview statement on Deadline.

It sounds like another masterpiece in the making.
