Disney continuous the additional advantage RK the engine vehicle distance ââwith âsurface â
Disney isn't going to let the "Cars" franchise die out anytime soon. That was first made evident when they not only green lit the sequel ("Cars 2") but began to build a portion of California Adventure into "Cars Land." At least little boys will dig that part of the park (give me Little Mermaid darn it!). Anyways, Disney isn't content with just having "Cars" and "Cars 2," they need more. So what are they going to do? Make a spin-off film. That's where "Planes" comes in, the spin-off that's already scheduled to hit DVD and Blu-ray in the spring of 2013. Along with that, there's also a series of "Cars Toons" shorts that will be attached to a couple of the upcoming Disney films including the new "Muppets" film.Having "Cars" continue on into spin-offs and what-have-you may not be appealing to us, but it certainly is to Disney. Their merchandise sales have been strong with the Owen Wilson-voiced! red race car, and they hope to further continue it with their future plans. It's a smart move, and I'm not complaining mainly because they're handling the upcoming "Muppets" movie (hooray).Source: Variety
