Ton hold Steve Carel the roofridge role with dogs `from Babel ton

Mandate Pictures signed actor Steve Carell to star in “Dogs of Babel.”

The film is adapted from Carolyn Parkhurst’s novel about the story of love and loss. Paul Iverson, a linguistic professor, came home to find his wife dead in the backyard and with the dog Lorelei as the only witness to her death. In his search for answers, he tried to teach his dog to talk so he can uncover on how she died.

“Steve is one of those rare talents who can make you laugh uncontrollably and at the same time evoke real emotion,” said David Heyman, producer of the film. “We can’t wait to see how he brings the role to life.”

The company will announce a director soon.
