Jerry steel, in order ton one Write `the thin Remakeszenario off one

Warner Brothers hired scriptwriter Jerry Stahl to pen the remake script for “The Thin Man.”

Actor Johnny Depp is already attached to star in the film as the former private detective Nick Charles. Warner Brothers is negotiating with director Rob Marshall to helm the project.

The 1934’s “The Thin Man” film was a comedy mystery featuring Nick and Nora Charles solving a murder. The original film was based on a Dashiell Hammett novel, in which the couple investigated a murder that involved an eccentric inventor and his crazy family.

The film starred William Powell, Myrna Loy and Maureen O’Sullivan.

The new remake script will provide a contemporary attitude, but retain the period setting of the 1930s.

Stahl wrote many scripts on many television shows including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Twin Peaks,” “ALF,” and “Moonlighting.” He also wrote the screenplay to 2003’s “Bad Boys II.”
